Two Timorese Students Graduated from Chinese Scholarships
Helio Brites da Silva and Lydia Bety Barreto Soares Fatima, two of the Timorese students, who have been studying in China under the Chinese scholarship program, graduated in June 2012.
Today, 26th June 2012, H.E. Ambassador of the Democratic Repubic of Timor-Leste to the People’s Republic of China, Ms. Vicky Tchong and Second Secretary, Mr. Faustino de Sausa Freitas attended the graduation ceremony of Helio Brites at the Beijing International Studies University. Helio is a post graduate student, majored in Tourism Destination Marketing, College of Tourism Business Management.
Lidya Bety is a master degree student, majors in Communication and Information System, College of Information and Communication Engineering at the Harbin Engineering University, Heilongjiang (north of China), she is expected to have her graduation ceremony on 28th June 2012.
Since 2006, nearly 30 Timorese have been granted Chinese Scholarships to study in China. In August this year, there will be another 6 - 8 Timorese youths commencing the same scholarships in China.
