The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste in Beijing donated miniature sandalwood made Uma Lulic (Traditional Timorese House) to a Charity Auction held on February 10th 2015. The auction was organized by the Chinese Foundation for Lifeline Express in conjunction with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China; the Uma Lulic was sold at RMB50, 000.

Through this event, the Embassy not only supported a worthy cause, but also promoted the image of Timor-Leste and raised the awareness of Timorese cultural heritage as well as its arts and craft; that may encourage Timorese to create and produce more culturally appropriate artifacts to contribute to tourism development in Timor-Leste.
