Ambassador Vicky Tchong participated at The World Peace Forum 2012 held from July 7 to 8 at the Tsinghua University in Beijing. The theme of the two days meetings is “Win-Win for All: Peace, Security, Cooperation”.

 

Chinese Vice President H.E. Xi Jinping delivered a keynote address with a call for all nations to make efforts to tackle challenges in regional security and create harmony and stability around the world.

 

Speakers and moderators of various discussion panels include former Peruvian President Alan Garcia, former Malaysian Prime Minister Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, former Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin, former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, former Secretary of the Russian Security Council Igor Ivanov and former EU High Representative for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana.

 

Chinese Foreign Minister H.E. Yang Jiechi gave a lunch time speech on Chinese Foreign policies and some Ambassadors in Beijing also moderated the discussion panels on a range of topics dealing with the trends of international security, the roles of Major Powers for World peace, International Cooperation in view of the Global Economic Crises, Impact of Religious and Political Reform on International Security, Cooperation between BRICS and developed countires, Impact of Ideological Diversities on International Security, Architecture for Asia-pacific Security Cooperation, Settlement of Middle East Conflicts, Regional Security Organisation and Reginal Conflicts, Principle of International Security Protection, Non-Traditional Security Cooperation, the Role of UN in INternational Security, Social Development and International Security, Cyber Security, China's Development and World peace.
