People’s around the world recognized 14^th of February as the day of love or well known as St. Valentine’s Day. The Timorese students in China feel the same atmosphere and celebrated it happily. Timorese diplomats in China were invited to take part as well. The Master of Ceremony opens up the celebrations, followed by a speech of the Commercial Attaché, Mr. Salvador Pereira. He told everyone that “love is to understand, we shall keep the unity among us, and to respect one another”.

The students chip in some money and organized a series of programs, there were cutting cake; traditional Timorese food, exchange of gifts and say prayer before the dinner. The celebration ended with Timorese songs and dances. This is the first time the Timorese students celebrated St. Valentine’s Day in Beijing and the spirit of team work was very strong and concrete.
